Man Utd want ‘fantastic’ French forward who’s ‘very strong’, has 16 goals in last 42 games for PL club - report

Manchester United want Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku and have asked to be kept informed of developments regarding his future, according to ESPN.

The France international is open to leaving this month, but the Blues would likely need a replacement if he moves on. They are keeping tabs on Red Devils star Alejandro Garnacho.

It is unclear whether the clubs will talk about a direct swap deal, but Nkunku has been on Man United’s radar for a while.

The Old Trafford club wanted the 27-year-old while he was still at RB Leipzig and have been linked with him since he moved to Chelsea.

The Paris Saint-Germain academy graduate has struggled with injuries since moving to the London club.

However, he has bagged 16 goals and four assists in 42 appearances for them and has often looked dangerous when he has played.

Nkunku has been dubbed ‘fantastic‘ and ‘very strong‘ due to his skills and style of play, and Man United could do with someone like him in their attack.

They could lose Garnacho and Marcus Rashford before the end of the January transfer window, and the Frenchman would be perfect as an addition to their squad

He notched 70 goals and 54 assists in 172 games for Leipzig and will be hungry to prove himself at another Premier League club if given the opportunity to play regularly.

Man United need players who are desperate and eager to represent the club, and Nkunku fits the bill.

Manager Ruben Amorim believes his current squad could possibly be the worst in the history of the great club.

A major overhaul is needed if the underwhelming Red Devils are to become a force to be reckoned with again in England and Europe.
