Tottenham starlet set to leave on loan after Luka Modric comparison
Tottenham academy player Tyrese Hall is likely to secure a loan move before the end of the transfer window. With a short-term pathway into the Tottenham first-team unlikely, Hall will look to get senior minutes elsewhere.
Tyrese Hall was an integral in Spurs’ successful academy team
The 2023-24 season was a resounding success for Tottenham’s academy as Wayne Burnett’s team won the Premier League 2.
Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear have moved into the Tottenham first team and Jamie Donley is having a successful loan at Leyton Orient. However, some are forgetting that midfielder Tyrese Hall was as important a figure in that Spurs academy side.
Last February, Manchester City began scouting Tyrese Hall after such an impressive academy season and there is confidence that he will become a successful senior footballer.
Tyrese Hall is likely to get a loan move before the window closes
According to SkySports (12:36 21/01/2025), Hall is expected to leave Spurs on loan before the end of the transfer window.
The 19-year-old versatile midfielder is highly rated by Tottenham, but with little access to the first team in the short term, a loan move may be sanctioned to allow Hall to get senior minutes. Teams from the Championship, League One and Scottish Premiership are all keeping an eye on Hall’s situation.
Former Spurs striker and coach Jermain Defoe picked out Tyrese Hall as a player to watch in 2025, comparing him to Luka Modric and Joe Cole. Defoe believes Hall has the quality to become an established Premier League footballer.
Hall is competing with Bergvall and Gray but can catch up
Tyrese Hall has been temporarily surpassed by the arrival of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray. Both of whom are establishing themselves as first-team players. Gray has picked up the majority of his minutes in defence, but there is a view for him to play in midfield in the future.
It is time for Hall to get senior minutes as his ability will stagnate in the academy. If he has a successful loan, he has the technical ability to catch up with Bergvall and Gray once again.
With Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma with approximately 18 months remaining on their contracts, it is the perfect time for Hall to announce himself and vie for the chance to replace the senior midfielders in the future, should either (or both) move on from Spurs.
