Tottenham linked with AC Milan forward and Feyenoord defender
As the transfer window nears its end, recent reports have now revealed the defenders and forwards Tottenham could sign during the final two weeks of the January transfer window.
Tottenham’s current situation and January needs
Tottenham Hotspur have already made one move this month, signing Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague to bolster their goalkeeping options, but the need for reinforcements is far from resolved.
A spate of injuries has exposed weaknesses in the squad, leaving Postecoglou with a diminished pool of players to choose from as the campaign enters its critical phase.
One area the Lilywhites were keen to strengthen this window, was the forward area where Muani was identified as the main target, however, the club ultimately lost out with the French forward opting for Juventus over a move to North London.
Despite this setback, Tottenham remain active in the market. Their focus is firmly on adding depth in defence and also in attack.
Key targets and Tottenham’s transfer ambitions
TBR Football has reported that Tottenham are actively pursuing multiple targets, with a new defender being the top priority for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Graeme Bailey, TBR Football’s chief correspondent, has revealed that the club has been presented with options in recent days, including Barcelona winger Ansu Fati and AC Milan forward Noah Okafor, as they seek to bolster their attacking ranks.
On the defensive front, Tottenham’s interest in Slovakian duo Milan Skriniar and David Hancko is described as strong.
Galatasaray have also expressed interest in the 29-year-old, while Juventus appear to prefer his international colleague Hancko.
David Hancko, who plies his trade at Feyenoord, has emerged as a viable option, with his Dutch club valuing him at around £30 million.
The Postecoglou approach and Tottenham’s immediate priorities
Amid the flurry of speculation surrounding Tottenham’s transfer strategy, Ange Postecoglou has offered a candid assessment of his priorities for the remainder of the window.
For the Australian tactician, this period is less about long-term planning and more about addressing the immediate demands of his squad.
“What we need right now is some able bodies who can help us get through this period,” Postecoglou explained when speaking to the media recently. “That is more important because every game we have close to double-digit absences and we need to try and get some help to get through that.”
