Senior Spurs player picks up knee injury ahead of Everton
Tottenham Hotspur’s injury problems have continued ahead of the trip to Everton with another first-team player now sidelined in the form of Dominic Solanke.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has already had to contend with a number of his senior players missing significant game time this season. The Australian will now have to rethink his selection for the Premier League fixture at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Dominic Solanke suffers knee injury at Tottenham
The Daily Mail reveal that Dominic Solanke is the latest injury casualty at Tottenham with the forward adding to Ange Postecoglou’s woes.
The England international has suffered a muscular injury and is expected to miss the visit to Goodison Park. There are also fears he could miss a number of matches beyond this weekend.
Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has also taken to social media platform X this evening to confirm his understanding of Solanke’s injury.
He wrote: “One normal day is all I ask. Dom Solanke injured – timescale to be confirmed. Knee injury of some description.”
Solanke arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this summer on the back of a prolific campaign at Bournemouth. Last season, he managed to appear in all of the Cherries’ 38 Premier League fixtures without missing a single match.
Who will replace Solanke for Spurs against Everton?
Ange Postecoglou must now shuffle his attacking options at short notice ahead of the trip to Everton.
It remains to be seen whether he plays Heung-min Son down the middle, or hands Richarlison a start against his former side. This comes despite a lack of match fitness for the Brazilian who only returned from a long lay-off against Arsenal.
One thing is for sure, the Tottenham injury list continues to be a huge problem for the club and could end up proving costly for Postecoglou’s job security.
