Fabrizio Romano reveals “new contacts” imminent over Manchester United transfer deal
Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a fresh update on a major saga involving Manchester United.
Posting on his official account on X, Romano says we can expect “new contacts” in the coming days between Borussia Dortmund and Man Utd forward Marcus Rashford, while Barcelona are also very keen on the England international.
Rashford seems highly likely to leave Old Trafford this January after falling out of favour following a significant loss of form, and it seems the 27-year-old remains highly regarded by top clubs around Europe.
Still, Romano has now suggested that Dortmund might be more likely than AC Milan, whose focus for now seems to be on signing Kyle Walker from Manchester City instead…

Barca could also be one to watch for Rashford as they look to replace the out-of-favour Ansu Fati in their attack, but Dortmund may be leading the race for the moment.
Marcus Rashford transfer: Can the Man United misfit revive his career?
People will all have their own views on Rashford’s current struggles, with the Red Devils ace perhaps past his best now and struggling due to poor attitude, meaning a departure is essential for the club to rebuild in a positive way under new manager Ruben Amorim.
Others will feel that Rashford has been treated a bit harshly after giving it his all for so many years during a difficult period for United, and that there could perhaps be a way for Amorim to work to get him back to his best.
Still, it might also be that it’s now the best time for Rashford and MUFC to go their separate ways, as the player may just need a new challenge elsewhere to help him find his spark again.
Dortmund proved to be a good move on loan for Jadon Sancho last season after he’d struggled at United, so this could make sense as an ideal destination for Rashford as he goes through a similar difficult period in his career.
