MLB Writer Loves Two Attributes Of Top Red Sox Prospect
Roman Anthony starts the 2025 season as Baseball America’s No. 1 prospect as the face of a farm system turnaround for the Boston Red Sox.
MLB.com’s Jim Callis offered similar praise for Anthony, who rose through three levels of the Red Sox system in 2023 and reached Triple-A Worcester to end 2024. The prospect has a promising profile, though these areas stood out to Callis.
“I’ll reveal that when I assembled my personal Top 100 as part of the process for our 2025 list, I put Anthony at No. 1, thought that wasn’t a reflection of the Executive Poll,” Callis wrote Saturday. “His combination of offensive attributes and performance made the difference for me.”
Anthony and fellow exciting prospect Kristian Campbell are prime candidates to impact the Red Sox at the big-league level and perhaps even make the Opening Day roster in 2025. Both players slugged their way to more prominence a season ago and remain poised to continue that growth into the new season.
Red Sox coaches at the MLB level spoke to NESN.com about the excitement for Anthony and Campbell to make the jump to Boston.
