Marcus Rashford transfer update as Tottenham continue to monitor Man Utd striker
Tottenham Hotspur continue to vie for Marcus Rashford’s signature, but one club are now confident that they will soon finalise a deal for the Man United man.
Tottenham have held talks over a deal for Marcus Rashford
If you have followed Spurs Web’s coverage over recent days, you will know that the speculation linking Rashford with a move to Tottenham refuses to go away, despite the obvious challenges the Lilywhites face in signing the forward.
The latest to report on the matter was The Independent, who claimed that Spurs have not only explored a move for Rashford but have also held ‘informal talks’ over a deal for him.
However, the outlet made it clear that at the moment, the England international is more likely to end up abroad, with AC Milan, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund battling for his services.
Marcus Rashford’s fate will be decided this week
In a fresh report, TuttoMercatoWeb have now also named Tottenham as contenders for Rashford, but they make it clear that Ange Postecoglou‘s men are behind others in the race.
Rashford’s brother, Dwaine Maynard, who is also his agent, is thought to have received offers from AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, with all four proposals coming as a loan offer with an option to buy.
The report says that the forward’s ‘fate will be decided’ this week’ as he will soon make a decision after listening to all the proposals.
The outlet adds that the Rossoneri are confident they will win the race for Rashford and expect to meet with the player’s entourage over the coming days.
Are Spurs being used to put pressure on other clubs?
Another report in Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) also mentions Spurs among the list of clubs chasing Rashford.
However, interestingly, the publication questions whether Rashford’s representatives are using Tottenham’s alleged interest to put pressure on other clubs to submit a viable offer.
