Man Utd receive £38m offer for 20yo star who won 100% aerial duels vs Arsenal, could sell him at £60m - report
Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho could soon be on his way out of Old Trafford.
There is keen interest from Italy to sign Garnacho who was axed from the United squad that faced Manchester City last month.
According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Napoli have offered £38 million including add ons for Garnacho but Man United want more than £60m to sanction his exit.
It was reported recently that the Red Devils will make unemotional judgements on all outgoings.
The 20-year-old has found it hard to adapt to new playing style brought in by manager Ruben Amorim.
Amorim has adopted a 3-4-2-1 formation, which challenges Garnacho’s natural instincts as a winger.
He thrives on staying wide and cutting in with the ball.
Amorim wants two number 10s behind a centre-forward.
The Argentina international has been used in that position but he has yet to impress.
He is too weak defensively to play as a wing-back.
He has featured 12 times under Amorim but most of his appearances have come as a substitute.
The talented attacker got a rare start in United’s fantastic FA Cup victory over Arsenal on Sunday.
It was his best performance since the change of the coaching set up.
He displayed vision to find Bruno Fernandes for the opening strike.
After Diogo Dalot got his marching orders, Garnacho displayed resilience as the right wing-back.
He won all three of his aerial duels and made eight defensive actions.
He was dispossessed only twice and tested David Raya with a shot.
Selling Garnacho will be pure profit for United but they must resist any temptation to do so.
He is very young and needs time to acclimatize to the new system.
