Adams 'Delighted' With Scoring Form

0 4

Eilidh Adams admits she is "delighted" by both her own goal scoring form as well as Sunday's terrific victory over Spartans to kick-off the new year.

Adams netted twice against Jack Beesley's side and was joined on the scoresheet by Michaela McAlonie, Ciara Grant, Kirsten Reilly and Kirsty Morrison as Hibs cruised to a 6-0 win at Meadowbank.

"We came out in the first half and looked really sharp," tells Adams.

"We could feel that in the warm-up and we brought that into the match. We’ve had a bit of a rest, which has been nice. That’s partly why we have looked so sharp.

"We’ve been working hard and we’re really pleased. In the second half there was maybe not the same intensity but we got the job done in the first half.

"We just wanted to come out the box flying and see what happened. We knew if we moved the ball quickly it could cause them to struggle and we did that, and maintained that."

The forward's brace has pushed her onto 20 goals in 20 appearances for Hibernian this season.

While her remarkable record may be a source of personal pride and joy, contributing to the team's scoring - and seeing others get in on the action - is what matters most.

"I’m a striker, so that’s my job."

"If I can help the team out by scoring then I’m delighted. It was nice there were a few different scorers today spread across the team.

"For me, personally, I’m delighted and hopefully I can continue my goal scoring."
