Scott: We Ticked Every Box
Grant Scott admits it is "pleasing" to see his Hibernian Women side in free-scoring form after picking up another big league win.
The Hibees made a perfect start to 2025, comfortably seeing off Spartans with a resounding 6-0 victory at Meadowbank Stadium.
Eilidh Adams' brace was supplemented by Michaela McAlonie, Ciara Grant, Kirsten Reilly and Kirsty Morrison strikes to lift Hibs up to third in the ScottishPower Women's Premier League table.
"I am thoroughly delighted with that one," Scott said.
"We thought Spartans would be a sticky opponent today but the early goals help us out massively.
"Delighted to get in front early and we played pretty well, in the first half especially. Another clean sheet for the girls at the back and Erin in goals.
"We ticked every box today."
With the girls rising to third in the league standings, there is conversations regarding the importance of goal difference as the season nears the latter stages.
Despite four other clubs surrounding Hibs at the top of the table, Scott is not concerned about running up the score on opponents but rather his side's performances.
"It’s pleasing for us coaches to see [plenty of goals scored]. It’s good for confidence within the team. We’ve had multiple scorers again. All of that is positive.
"The goal difference is going to take care of itself. I’m not a fan of people coming out and saying we should have scored more, for me it’s disrespectful to your opponent. I can’t complain.
"The girls executed everything really well and looked a good side again."
A midweek away trip to face Dundee United on Wednesday evening is next up for the Hibees, before a crucual Sky Sports Cup semi-final awaits on Sunday at Meadowbank.
While some may balk at playing multiple games in a week, Scott is certain that the players would rather be out on the pitch every few days than training at HTC every day.
"It’s a long time since I played the game but I would rather be playing than training.
"I think we are in a good vein of form. When you have that confidence and belief in yourselves, your movements and rotations are very good.
"We just want to get back on the pitch and play again."
