'We will see' Zlatan Ibrahimovic speaks about AC Milan's interest in Marcus Rashford - report

0 4

AC Milan have recently been linked with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

Rashford’s agent was in Italy last week to meet with Milan and Juventus to discuss his future.

Milan sacked manager Paolo Fonseca after a poor start to the season. Sergio Conceicao has replaced him.

They are ready to support Conceicao by signing a new forward and are exploring a move for Rashford.

The club’s senior adviser, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has spoken about their interest in the England international.

Ibrahimovic told Sky Italia: “I know him very well – I played alongside him when he was young, and now he is an adult and established.

“He did great things with United. Today, that is his club. How do you convince him? Milan is one of the biggest clubs in the world – everyone wants to play here.

“It is a difficult operation. We will see if we can talk to him.”

French giants Monaco are reportedly interested in him as they seek to end the dominance of Paris Saint-Germain in the Ligue 1. Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with him.

United want to let Rashford leave this month following the breakdown of his relationship with manager Ruben Amorim.

He has not played the 27-year-old since the Europa League clash with Viktoria Plzen due to his antics two days before Everton’s visit.

Rashford has been left out of the squad for the FA Cup third-round tie with Arsenal today, increasing the possibility of him leaving Old Trafford this month.

The versatile forward has claimed he is ‘ready for a new challenge’, indicating his association with the Red Devils has ended.

Rashford is one of Man United’s highest earners. His departure will help the club to reduce their bill and sign players that will suit Amorim’s plans.

Man United are ‘leaning towards a straight loan for him before reassessing his future in the summer’.

His salary is the biggest obstacle preventing interested clubs from striking a deal with the Red Devils.

While United are ready to let him on loan, they must cover a substantial part of his salary to facilitate his exit.
