Former UL, LSU football player wanted for alleged hit-and-run, vehicular homicide
CHACKBAY, La. (KLFY) -- An arrest warrant has been issued by Louisiana State Police for former University of Louisiana wide receiver Kyren Lacy, authorities said.
According to Louisiana State Police, Lacy is wanted for his involvement in a crash that occurred on Dec. 17 near Chackbay. That accident took the life of a former Marine and injured two other people. He is wanted on charges of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run and reckless operation of a vehicle.
The crash claimed the life of Herman Hall, 78, of Thibodaux.
Lacy is being alleged of recklessly operating a 2023 Dodge Charger going southbound on La. 20 near Chackbay in Lafourche Parish. Investigators said Lacy crossed the center line while speeding and crashed entering the northbound lane. Lacy fled the scene and did not report the incident to law enforcement, officials said.
Lacy spent his first two collegiate years with the Ragin' Cajuns from 2020-21 before transferring to LSU. Lacy was coming off his final season of college football leading the Bayou Bengals in receiving touchdowns during the 2024 season.
Lacy posted on social media declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft only two days after the crash had occurred.
