Patriots Earns Second-Straight Nod On NFL Players All-Pro Team
This Patriots season was one to forget, but at least one player received deserved recognition.
The third annual NFL Players’ All-Pro Team was released Wednesday, and New England safety and special teams player Brenden Schooler earned his second-straight nod. The 27-year-old joined Miles Killebrew in the core special teamer category, and his inclusion in the Players’ All-Pro Team came after he was voted into the Pro Bowl.
Schooler was one of New England’s most consistent players in his three seasons after he signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022. The Texas product this season began to transition to safety while maintaining his role on special teams. The work he put in earned him a three-year contract extension last offseason.
There is some correlation between the Players’ All-Pro Team and the AP All-Pro Team. However, one of the key differences is that there is only one spot for core special teamer. Schooler was not named to the AP All-Pro Team last season despite being voted by players. But he still does seem to be in the mind of the league so he’ll get a shot this season.
