Patriots Should Be Delighted Mike Vrabel Not On This Team’s List
The Patriots reportedly have a strong interest in bringing Mike Vrabel back, and they’ll face one less competitor for his services.
Vrabel reportedly has mutual interest in becoming the next New England head coach, but the 49-year-old went through the process with an interview with the New York Jets. The former Tennessee Titans head coach is expected to interview with the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints this week, but not with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
That’s because the Jags on Tuesday released a list of candidates they requested an interview for. Among the names are potential Patriots targets Ben Johnson and Liam Cohen as well as former Jets head coach Robert Saleh.
One person not on Jacksonville’s list? Vrabel.
New England should be enticed by that as it does give it a better chance at hiring a candidate the fanbase wants. Robert Kraft noted he will do his due diligence during the hiring process, but the plethora of appealing candidates could help the Patriots hire the one they might desire the most.
