Cowboys Cheerleader Speaks Out After Getting Hit With Football

0 6

The Dallas Cowboys cheerleader who was hit in the head with a football on live television has spoken out about the viral incident.

During Sunday’s game between the Cowboys and the Washington Commanders, Cowboys placekicker Brandon Aubrey lobbed a ball which quickly flew out of bounds and smacked cheerleader Michelle Siemienowski in the back of the head. Siemienowski fell to the ground as a group of fellow cheerleaders and sidelines staff rushed to assist her, but she immediately stood back up and walked it off.

The rookie cheerleader was later glimpsed by cameras sitting and sipping some water on the sidelines, assuring those around her she was fine despite tears being visible in her eyes.

Following the Commanders’ victory over the Cowboys, Siemienowski posted an update on her Instagram Stories assuring followers that she was a-OK. “I’m all right everyone!” Siemienowski captioned a video of the incident. "Claiming the motto: cry now, laugh later!" she wrote in a follow-up. In another story, Siemienowski reposted an account which commended her for “taking hits for the crew better than the entire team did this season.”

Aubrey’s out-of-bounds kick was a rare misstep for the player, who’s landed the majority of his punts this season. In the first half of Sunday’s game, the placekicker nailed two field goals and scored six points against the Commanders. But that wasn’t enough to win the game. Washington beat Dallas 23–19, capping a dismal season which saw the team win just seven out of 17 games.
