Injured Tottenham man posts promising update on social media
Tottenham winger, Wilson Odobert, has hinted with his latest social media post that he is not far away from returning from injury.
Ange Postecoglou says the Tottenham squad needs help
Ange Postecoglou has confessed on a few occasions over the last few weeks that the squad is in desperate need of reinforcements in January.
The Australian has had to use the same set of around 15 players over the last month and a half owing to the club’s injury crisis, which has not only led to a drop in intensity but has also led to more injuries as a result of some of the players being overburdened.
However, the additional help can not only come via the transfer market but may also arrive through the return of some of his key players, and one man now appears to be edging close to returning.
Wilson Odobert hints at return from injury
Wilson Odobert, who has not kicked a ball since October, has now posted a promising update on social media.
The 20-year-old has only made five appearances for Spurs since his summer switch from Burnley, having suffered two different hamstring injuries, the second of which has kept him out of action over two months.
However, the winger has now posted a picture of him wearing boots on Instagram stories, which is a sign that he has now begun training outdoors as he steps up his recovery.
Odobert has been a much bigger miss than many realise
Odobert was signed in the summer as Postecoglou was keen to bring in a wide player who could carry the ball and take his man on, which is not a characteristic that other wingers at the club have.
In the Frenchman’s absence, Tottenham’s attack down the flanks has been one-dimensional as neither Brennan Johnson nor Heung-min Son (at this stage of his career) are capable of going past defenders.
That is why Spurs will be keen to bring in another good one-v-one winger through the door in January.
