Collyer came on for Casemiro at half-time in the 3-0 loss to Liverpool earlier in the season. He looked a solid figure but an injury curtailed his progress.

He has been named in United’s matchday squad for the last two league games which suggests he is part of Amorim’s plans.

The club may send Collyer out on loan for the rest of the season. However, he should stay at Old Trafford and provide midfield cover.

With the Red Devils still competing in three competitions, Collyer could become a crucial asset.

Known for his athleticism, the 20-year-old possesses the physical attributes that Amorim seeks in a midfielder.

The starlet must make the most of the opportunities he is given in the second half of the season.
