Postecoglou identifies two Spurs priorities for January transfer window
Ange Postecoglou has reportedly identified the two biggest priorities for Spurs in the January transfer window as the Lilywhites prepare for what could be a busy month.
How many new signings do Spurs need?
Many Spurs fans will feel that the club needs at least three new faces to come through the door if they want to shore up the weaknesses in the squad and give Postecoglou a chance to turn this around.
While the injury situation at the back has necessitated defensive reinforcements, Spurs also look in need of an injection of quality in midfield and attack.
The Lilywhites thus face a tricky decision on how much of their budget to assign to each role as we edge closer to the opening of the transfer window.

The Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick has now remarked that the injury setbacks in central defence have ‘heightened the need for cover at centre-back’.
He explains that Postecoglou also sees adding more firepower to Spurs‘ underfiring frontline as a priority.
The journalist says that Tottenham would ideally want to sign an experienced forward, who is capable of covering across the front three and an experienced left-sided centre-back, who can also fill in at left-back if needed.
An ankle injury to Radu Dragusin and a setback for Ben Davies have heightened the need for cover at centre-back, while the front line is another priority.
What else do Tottenham need?
While signing a forward and a centre-back cover are musts for Spurs, one can make the case that the Lilywhites also need another central midfielder who provides energy while also being good on the ball.
In the absence of Rodrigo Bentancur, the limitations in possession of Yves Bissouma, and to a lesser extent, Pape Sarr, were exposed.
I would expect Postecoglou to have a new number six near the top of his wishlist heading into the January window.
