Mookie Betts Delivers Real Thoughts About Yankees Fan Incident

Mookie Betts took a different direction on a wild World Series moment months after the Fall Classic.

The former Boston Red Sox star caught a foul ball in the middle of two New York Yankees fans, who tried to rip the ball out of his glove. The blatant fan interference in Game 4 shocked fans and even provided a laugh given how brazen the attempt was.

At the time, Betts took the high road and played down the bizarre moment. However, he changed his tune this week.

“I would really say (expletive) you guys,” Betts told Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson on Peacock’s “2024 Back That Year Up.” “I get them trying to get the ball, cool. But like, you tried to grab my (expletive). I was in the moment so I thought about the ball at them. Then I realized, well, you ain’t gonna (expletive). Yeah, you ain’t gonna do (expletive). Go back to right field.”

Luckily for the three-time World Series champion, he came out unscathed. The two fans were banned from Game 5 and didn’t see the Dodgers close out the Bronx Bombers to win the World Series.

But it was clear that the incident meant a lot more to Betts than he initially tried to portray.
