27-year-old wants to stay in the Premier League even if he leaves Spurs

0 4

One Spurs man is reportedly not convinced about the idea of leaving the Premier League, even though a couple of foreign clubs are now stepping up their efforts to sign him in January.

Richarlison linked with move from Spurs to Brazil

Over the last week, speculation from Brazil has suggested that Fluminense are determined to re-sign Richarlison as they look to revamp their forward line.

The club’s president, Mario Bittencourt, himself confirmed a couple of days ago that they are indeed keen on bringing the 27-year-old back to the club, revealing that they have made contact with Spurs regarding a deal.

Meanwhile, fellow Brazilian giants, Flamengo, have also asked Spurs about the forward, but the North London club’s asking price is reportedly out of reach of the side at the moment.

Richarlison is not keen on a return to Brazil

A report in O Dia (as relayed by Sport Witness) have now backed up Flamengo’s and Fluminense’s interest in the Tottenham man, but they say that the striker may have other ideas.

It is explained that while Richarlison is not ruling out a return to Brazil, his priority is to remain in the Premier League, even if he is to leave Spurs in January.

The outlet also backs up what we have heard previously about Flamengo’s pursuit of the 27-year-old, revealing that they are only willing to pay €20m (£16.5m) for the centre-forward while Tottenham are demanding at least €40m (£33.1m).

January move to Brazil “almost impossible” for Richarlison

Meanwhile, journalist Jorge Nicola, who has his finger on the pulse of all things Brazilian football, believes that Tottenham’s asking price makes it nearly impossible for the likes of Flamengo and Fluminense to sign the former Everton man.

Nicola bluntly states: “Just to finish in relation to Richarlison, the contract with Tottenham ends in June 2027 and in recent days he had already been sought by Fluminense and also by Flamengo. Given the numbers requested, it can be said that Richarlison in Brazil is almost impossible.”
