Rangers have a deal type in mind as they prepare to look to strengthen a key position in the January transfer window, according to the Rangers Review.
Philippe Clement managed to bring in a number of players over the course of the summer transfer window, but had to balance the books with outgoings in the process.
The Gers have been unable to keep pace with rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, but did push the Bhoys hard in the Scottish League Cup final at the weekend.
Rangers are now looking ahead and with the January transfer window on the horizon, business is expected to be done.
It has been suggested that the Glasgow outfit are looking to bring in a defender in January as John Souttar and Neraysho Kasanwirjo are currently injured.
Clement’s side, though, are looking to do a loan rather than a permanent deal.
Kasanwirjo, who is currently on loan from Feyenoord, is not expected to feature again for the Gers this season while Souttar has been sidelined for multiple weeks.
Whether Rangers can find the centre-back they want on a loan deal remains to be seen and the Gers could have to search far and wide to find the right signing.
