Sports Briefs: MA grad Colpitts reaches NCAA women’s soccer semis
Former Marin Academy soccer standout Cami Colpitts helped Washington University in St. Louis advance to the NCAA Division III national semifinals.
Colpitts has scored four goals with four assists this season for the Bears (21-0-2), who have reached the national semifinals for the second consecutive season. Colpitts has played in all 23 games for the Bears, starting one. Colpitts scored two goals against Rose-Hulman on Sept. 21 and had a one-goal, two-assist performance against Piedmont on Oct. 6.
Washington faces Christopher Newport University at 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 6. William Smith and Emory face off in the other semifinal.
• Former Branson School standout Noelle Namba helped guide Vassar into the second round of the NCAA D-III tournament. Namba had two goals and five assists this season while starting 20 of 21 games in the midfield for the Brewers.
