ForeverFrancisTrickyBlueNikola ZigicPlayed well there and scored against us for Fulham.
Playing on the left or right doesn't make you a winger.
Stop talking sense mate it’ll never catch on.
Liverpool fans must be fuming with where Salah has been playing. He’s basically a right back.
Wingers (in the traditional sense) are dying out. Wide players are mostly playing as “inside forwards” to fit a system.
Stansfield on the left, May as striker and Willumsson in behind makes total sense.
Yep this ^^^ I didn't reply to the armchair Alf Ramsey's who obviously should be coaching in the Premier League .
Stansfield has always played as an 'inside forward' behind the main striker .Obviously he is good enough to play there, Fulham and lots of people with greater football knowledge than me agree.
But you said he should be ‘playing on the shoulder’. I don’t see how you do that if you are playing behind another forward. The type of ‘inside forward’ you are talking about is the Bob Hatton (or if you like Kevin Keegan) model who played off a more traditional no 9, ie not Alfie May. Maybe what the manager had in mind when bringing on Dykes. Not sure that works that well when spend most of the game in the opposition third.
