UK snow forecast: Could Man City vs Tottenham be postponed?
What could the latest weather warnings around the UK mean for Tottenham vs Man City at the Etihad?
Bad weather in the UK
With winter now upon us, weather warnings have been issued this week in different parts of the UK. We even saw parts of snow across England over the past few days!
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for multiple days this week, with the central and northern parts of England, along with Wales experiencing rain, sleet and snow.
With Tottenham travelling north to Manchester to take on the Premier League champions this Saturday, they might have to keep a keen eye on the forecast.
Is Tottenham vs Man City at risk of postponement?
Spurs will take on Pep Guardiola’s side on Saturday afternoon, with kick-off at 5.30 pm.
Football.London point out that there has already been plenty of snow in Manchester this week and more is expected today (Thursday).
However, they reveal that it is expected to stop after that, with no issues thus expected during matchday. The authorities fully expect the game to go ahead. Of course, we know that weather can change though.
Season-defining clash for Spurs?
Tottenham go into this game on the back of a bruising defeat to Ipswich and the players will be keen to respond in the right fashion. Spurs are currently 10th in the table and seven points behind City.
However, they will take a dangerous wounded animal, with Man City having lost their last four games ahead of the international break.
This clash thus has a lot riding on it for both sides, and a big loss for the Lilywhites would severely dent the squad’s confidence and make it difficult for them to recover.
