International Success For Hoilett & Moriah-Welsh
Junior Hoilett and Nathan Moriah-Welsh enjoyed success with their respective nations during the November international break.
Whilst Lewis Miller and Rudi Molotnikov earned extra caps and minutes over the last two weeks.
All six Hibees who travelled to represent their nations have now returned to HTC ahead of this weekend’s William Hill Premiership game against Dundee.
Junior Hoilett
Junior Hoilett earned his 65th cap for Canada this week as they beat Suriname 3-0 in Toronto.
That win meant Jesse Marsch’s side beat Suriname 4-0 on aggregate in the Concacaf Nations League Quarter-Final – Junior scored the winner in the first leg last week!
Canada will now progress to the Concacaf Nations League Finals and have qualified for the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.
Nathan Moriah-Welsh
It was also a successful international break for Nathan Moriah-Welsh and Guyana!
After an impressive 4-1 win against Barbados last week in the Concacaf Nations League Play-in first-leg, the Golden Jaguars backed that up with a 5-3 second-leg victory. Nath got an assist in the game this week.
That means that Guyana have now qualified for the Gold Cup prelims.
Moriah-Welsh started in both games – in a more advanced number 10 role – meaning he now has 22 caps for Guyana, scoring three goals.
Martin Boyle & Lewis Miller
Lewis Miller earned another cap for Australia this week as they drew 2-2 with Bahrain.
That means the Socceroos drew both their World Cup qualifiers during the November international break, and they currently sit second in their group with seven points from six matches.
Martin Boyle was on the bench for the game against Bahrain but was an unused substitute.
Lewis Miller now has 10 caps for his nation, whilst Martin Boyle remains on 29.
Rudi Molotnikov
Rudi Molotnikov put in a good performance for Scotland’s Under-19s as they drew 0-0 with France in their latest U19 Euros qualifiers.
During the November international break, they beat Liechtenstein, drew with France, and lost to Wales. Rudi captained the young Scots for their win over Liechtenstein.
Neil MacFarlane’s side currently sit third in their qualifying group behind league leaders France and second-placed Wales.
Rudi currently has 12 caps and three goals for Scotland’s Under-19s.
Rocky Bushiri
Rocky Bushiri was an unused substitute as DR Congo were beaten 2-1 by Ethiopia.
That was their second defeat of the November international break as they fell to a 1-0 loss against Guinea last week.
Those defeats were The Leopards’ firsts in their African Cup of Nations qualifying group. They still top of their group, though, and are two points ahead of Tanzania.
Our centre-half has two caps for DR Congo.
