Archie Gray admits Spurs players have their sights on one particular trophy
Archie Gray’s confession about Tottenham’s trophy ambitions this season will excite Spurs fans especially amid the current difficulties the side are facing with a lack of consistency in their performances.
Archie Gray has had a decent start to life at Spurs
Although Archie Gray has yet to start a Premier League game for Spurs so far, the youngster has grabbed the opportunities that have come his way in the Europa League and the Carabao Cup with both hands.
The youngster has demonstrated his versatility, impressing across the backline for the Lilywhites, with the investment that Tottenham made for him in the summer looking like money well spent.
The teenager will hope to get a chance to impress in the middle of the park over the next month and a half after the recent updates regarding Rodrigo Bentancur’s likely lengthy suspension.
Gray’s Europa League admission
Gray has now confessed that he dreams of lifting a trophy in his first season in North London and revealed that the whole Tottenham squad are determined to go all the way in the Europa League.
When asked about his objectives, Gray told Ben Haines via the ‘Driving Home With…’ official Spurs YouTube series: “Obviously challenge for a trophy, that’s the obvious one. And for me personally, this season, try to get as many minutes as possible and help the team as much as I can in any way.”
When asked about the prospect of playing in the Europa League final in Bilbao, Gray replied: “Yeah, that would be (cool), definitely. That’s definitely one we’re all keen on, it’s a great competition, there’s been some great winners and stuff like that, that’d be very nice!”
Should the Europa League be Tottenham’s focus?
While there is no doubt that Ange Postecoglou‘s men would be keen on securing a top-four finish in the Premier League this season, the Australian has made it clear that winning silverware is his main objective (BBC Sport).
Tottenham are one of the favourites to win the Europa League and one would expect Postecoglou to make the competition a priority once the club reach the knockout stages.
Spurs have a great history in this competition and the fans would be delighted to see their side be involved in the final in Bilbao.
