Scott Previews Sunday's Edinburgh Derby
Grant Scott admits there has been an "extra added edge" to training ahead of this weekend's Edinburgh Derby.
Heading into Sunday's trip to Tynecastle Park, the Hibees are unbeaten in six matches - a streak that reaches back two months to September.
Hibs have lost just once on the road this season and are seeking a third successive away victory following consecutive wins against Aberdeen and Partick Thistle over the past fortnight.
"I am really looking forward to it," Scott told Hibs TV. "Traditionally, it is a close contest and an evenly matched game.
"There is always a lift in the intensity for these games. Everybody wants to play. There is that little extra added edge, which is good to see, during Derby week.
"We heard them the full game," Scott recalled, thinking back to last season's 1-0 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle Park.
"The support we get on a week-to-week basis is incredible. But if we can get some new fans to come regularly, it will add to the support the girls see from the sides."
While Hibernian got the better of Hearts during the 2023/24 campaign, it was this weekend's hosts who prevailed earlier this season.
Despite the setback, Scott's side have rebounded to put in a number of strong performances to keep themselves within sight of the leading pack in the league.
"We are ahead of where I thought we might be. We are ambitious and driven as a group.
"A win on Sunday would certainly put us in amongst the pack. We are a little bit closer to the top sides than we were last year."
Eva Olid's side have already demonstrated the threat they possess in a number of performances this season, including at Easter Road.
While the Hibs Head Coach is appreciative of his side's rivals, he backs his own squad's abilities and is keen to rectify September's defeat.
"I think the style and system (Hearts) are using this year is very creative. It leads to fast, attacking, flowing football. That’s difficult for us to manage against. They are a good football side.
"But we are a strong team. We have shown already we can compete with anyone in the division. We have goal threats of our own.
"An open, attractive game of football is what we will see at the weekend."
