TOM’S WEEKEND PREVIEW – 16th & 17th November
Hi and welcome to this weekend’s preview with Royston Town FC, Royston Town Women, Royston Town Reserves and Royston Town Vets in action this cup weekend.
First up, Royston Town host Rushall Olympic in the FA Trophy 2nd Round, Saturday, 3 pm kick-off. This will be the first meeting in an FA Competition between the clubs, but Royston Town have played Rushall Olympic plenty of times in the Southern League Premier Central before Rushall Olympic’s promotion in 2023. Royston Town have played Rushall Olympic before in a cup competition when Royston Town defeated the Pics in the semi-final of the Southern League Cup in 2022. After a 3-3 draw with Brandon Adam’s scoring a hat- trick the Crows won 3-1 on penalties with Matt Bateman, Brandon Adams and Tom Newman scoring, with Dimitris Kyritzis saving 2 penalties.

Parking is limited and the nearest car park is the Town Hall car park postcode SG8 7XB, prices are:
80p for an hour / 90p for 2 hours / £1.20 for 3 hours / £3.50 for more than 3 hours. After 3pm parking is free.
The clubhouse and refreshments will be open and accept cash and cards.
Next up, Royston Town Women start a run of three cup games in a row with all three being away. The Women are beginning their defence of the Herts Women’s Senior Cup with a trip to fellow league rivals St Albans City in the Quarter Finals on Sunday in a 2 pm kick-off. Royston Town will be looking to put last Sunday’s defeat behind them and bounce back with a win. The Crowsy defeated St Albans City 4-2 away in the league earlier this season with an Emma Slater hat-trick and a Laura Mills goal.

Please note the York Road turnstiles are closed and only the Clarence Park and Hatfield Road Turnstiles are open from 12:30pm and it’s CARD only at the turnstiles.

Next up, Royston Town Reserves are back in action after a few weeks away as they travel to Wellingborough Whitworth in the Quarter Finals of the Spartan South Midlands Division One Cup, Saturday, 3pm kick-off. Royston Town defeated Irchester United 2-0 in the previous round with a Harrison Rookard brace while Wellingborough Whitworth beat Buckingham 4-1. Wellingborough Whitworth beat Royston Town Reserves 1-0 earlier this season.

Last up, Royston Town Vets host Sandridge Rovers Vets in the Herts Vets Championship League Cup, Sunday, 10:30am kick-off. Royston Town Vets are hoping for a win to keep up their chances of reaching the knockout stages.
