Tottenham pair facing complications on international duty due to bad weather
Two Tottenham players were unable to train with their national team on Wednesday due to bad weather and may have to fly to a different destination to get some preparation in for their upcoming Nations League fixtures.
Sweden squad’s training sessions have been interrupted
Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall have been called up to Sweden’s squad for their upcoming Nations League matches against Slovakia and Azerbaijan.
However, things have not gone according to plan for the pair and their international teammates, who might be forced to get some extra air miles ahead of their upcoming clash at home against Slovakia.
This is because their training session in Spain on Wednesday could not go ahead as planned due to bad weather in the country.
Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall caught in rough weather
This information comes from FotbollSkanalen, who reveals that the Sweden squad had travelled to Marbella for some warm weather training at the start of this break.
However, Spain has been hit with bad weather, with a warning even being issued in Marbella ahead of the squad’s training session.
It is revealed that the Sweden squad trained for just 15 minutes before being forced to come off the pitch due to torrential rains.
According to the outlet, the plan now is for the squad to fly to Stockholm from Marbella, but given the weather conditions, there are doubts over whether they can fly out from the city.
Not a good start to the international break for Spurs players
Kulusevski and Bergvall are not the only Tottenham players who have had to deal with a major inconvenience at the start of the international break.
It emerged on Wednesday that Cristian Romero and four other Argentina players who play in the Premier League were stuck in Brazil while en route to Argentina as their flight got cancelled (Pagina 12).
The Argentine FA reportedly had to send a private jet to rescue the pair ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
