Tottenham’s home ground is a big money spinner

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was designed to not just be a footballing colosseum but also a multi-use venue, capable of hosting NFL, and other sporting events and concerts.

The stadium has already been the stage for some of the biggest events on the calendar, with Tottenham profiting considerably from the fact that it is fast becoming one of the most sought-after venues in London.

It has now emerged that the ground might host a series of mammoth concerts next year for one of the most popular singers in the world.

Adele in talks over a series of concerts

According to The Mirror, Adele is now holding discussions regarding playing a series of concerts at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before she takes a break from performing.

The 36-year-old, who is a big Spurs fan, has now had an offer to step out on stage at the home of the beloved club she supports, with the venue seen as the perfect place for her to bow out ahead of her upcoming hiatus.

The outlet reveals that if Adele agrees to the offer, she could make £5m per night with over 60,000 people packing into the stadium for each performance.

The Mirror quotes one source with knowledge of the discussions as saying: “The offer is there for Adele to finally perform at Spurs’ stadium, which has been a dream of Adele’s for years. She loves the club and tries to never miss a game on TV.

“The opportunity to sing on the same pitch that her heroes like Son and James Maddison grace each week is a huge one and the perfect end to the last two years of shows in Las Vegas and Germany.”

This is great news for Spurs

Some Tottenham fans do not like the fact that the stadium is being used to host events other than football, with many seeing it as evidence that Spurs are morphing from a football club to an entertainment company.

However, hosting these sorts of high-profile events can only be a positive thing for the growth of the club’s brand.

Additionally, the revenue that these events bring gives Spurs a competitive advantage, especially given that the new financial restrictions link a club’s spending to their earnings.
