For the last 18 months, Tottenham fans have heard a lot about Moore and his qualities, with the youngster viewed as a potential superstar at Hotspur Way.

In the opportunities that he has got this season, the 17-year-old has shown just why there is so much excitement about him, looking completely unfazed by the big stage.

The teenager will be hoping he gets a lot more chances to show what he can do over the coming months, and he has just made an admission that will excite Spurs fans.

Moore says there is a lot more to come

Rather than resting on his laurels, the winger has now insisted that he wants to do a lot better than he has so far in his limited opportunities.

The Spurs academy graduate confidently asserted that he knows he has a lot more to offer, admitting that he is particularly keen to get his first goal for the Lilywhites.

Mikey Moore said in the Tottenham matchday programme (10/11/24): “I know I have a lot more to show. Some of my performances have been okay but I still have a lot more to give to help the team. I have that belief in myself to be able to help in any game.

“The big thing for me is scoring my first goal but I think that’ll come – I don’t need to get too desperate for it – so that makes me really excited for the rest of the season. I’m still nowhere near where I want to get to, so I need to carry on with what I’m doing but I always want to stay true to myself as a person.”

Mikey Moore vows to stay humble

The youngster also remarked that he is not one to get carried away and vowed to always keep working hard and ensure that his feet remain firmly planted on the ground.

He added: “No matter what I do in football, I want to stay humble, keep working hard and that’s the main thing for me as a player and person. When you play football, people don’t really get to see the human side of you but you always want to be a nice person and stay grounded.”

This statement is an extremely mature one for someone so young and shows that Moore has the required attitude to continue improving and reach the very top.
