Versatile attacker set for Premier League move

It has now been reported by CaughtOffside that a few English clubs, including Spurs, have their eye on Atalanta forward Charles De Ketelaere.

After his struggles in Milan, the Belgian had an outstanding season on loan at Atalanta last term, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists, and playing a key role in their Europa League triumph.

It has now been suggested that his stay at Bergamo might be short-lived, with a move to the Premier League in the offing.

The report claims that Spurs might have to fight it out with London rivals, Arsenal and West Ham, and might also have to see off competition from Newcastle United and Manchester City to land De Ketelaere.

Mikel Arteta is said to be a ‘big admirer’ of the 23-year-old while the Hammers are also said to be ready to pounce on the attacker.

However, the outlet makes it clear that as things stand, none of these clubs have made a concrete approach for the Atalanta star.

Charles De Ketelaere’s versatility would appeal to Spurs

We know that Ange Postecoglou likes attackers who can play across a number of different roles, which might be what is driving his interest in De Ketelaere.

The former Milan star can play as a number eight, a number ten as a centre-forward and even on the right flank, thus potentially giving the Australian plenty of options in his forward line.
