Dragusin stars once again

Dragusin has been a key part of Romania’s rise over the last couple of years and the centre-back showed once again on Saturday why he is such an important player for the Eastern European side.

Not only did he help them keep a clean sheet in Cyprus but he also found the back of the net – his first international goal for his country.

Mircea Lucescu’s men emerged with a comfortable 3-0 win, thus keeping their perfect record in the Nations League intact. They are currently sitting at the top of their group with three wins in three.

Dragusin’s goal

It was the Tottenham man who put the icing on the cake for the away side, netting the third goal in the 36th minute to seal the result.

After a well-worked short corner routine from the Romanians, the 22-year-old peeled off to the far post to meet a curling cross played into the box.

Much needed minutes

Dragusin and his teammates will now travel to Lithuania on Tuesday for a big clash as they look to seal progression to the next round of the competition.

The former Genoa man has not had a lot of minutes this season, partly down to being sent off early in Tottenham’s Europa League opener against Qarabag.

These minutes over the international break were thus much-needed for the defender, who will return to Hotspur Way much sharper.
