Sources are insistent that Premier League club will not sell Tottenham target

0 3

Tottenham Hotspur could face a battle on their hands next summer to land one of their rumoured transfer targets.

Tottenham hold an interest in Antoine Semenyo

TBR Football claim that Bournemouth are insistent they will not sell Antoine Semenyo amid plenty of interest in the 24-year-old.

The report claims that Semenyo has attracted interest from Tottenham, West Ham, Nottingham Forest, Everton and Fulham, while Newcastle United are the latest Premier League side to enter the race.

Sources have insisted that Bournemouth’s stance on the forward is that he ‘not be leaving’, and despite no approaches having been made to date, they will not be entertained.

The North Londoners previously sat around the negotiating table with the Cherries over the summer when they eventually reached a £65m deal to sign Dominic Solanke from the south coast outfit.

Semenyo has started the new Premier League campaign in decent form, having scored three goals in seven games as Bournemouth look to fill the void left by Solanke‘s 19 top-flight goals from last season (transfermarkt).

Considering he managed 8 goals in total last season, he is currently on course to at least get into double figures.

Semenyo could be an option to replace Richarlison

With Richarlison having been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia last summer and amid his frequent injury problems, it remains to be seen whether Ange Postecoglou will finally look to offload the Brazilian from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium come the end of the current campaign.

Unfortunately, Richarlison has not been able to show any form of consistency in front of goal since his move from Everton and if Tottenham genuinely do want to compete on multiple fronts, they need another striker within the Spurs first-team squad who can help shoulder the goalscoring burden from Solanke.

Bournemouth are in a strong position to command a hefty transfer fee considering Semenyo is under contract at the Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2029 (transfermarkt).

The 21-cap Ghanaian international has established himself as a key member of Bournemouth’s attack, especially with summer signing Evanilson yet to hit the ground running following his move from Porto.
