Club insider hints at triple injury boost for Tottenham next week

While most of the Tottenham squad are away on international duty, it appears three injured players could be set to join in with training at Hotspur Way in the coming days, handing Ange Postecoglou a major boost ahead of the upcoming fixtures.

Sonny and Richy in line for West Ham game

After last season’s catastrophic injury crisis, Ange Postecoglou will be keen for his squad to stay fit and healthy this term so they can compete across all four competitions they are involved in.

Going into the international break, Tottenham’s injury list was short but significant, with captain Heung-min Son the key absentee.

Meanwhile, Richarlison has been in rehabilitation mode for quite some time, and Wilson Odobert’s hamstring injury was thought to be keeping him out until at least the end of October.

Now, Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe has delivered an update that will put a smile on any fan’s face, with the suggestion that all three could be back in training next week.

On Son and Richarlison, O’Keefe said: “Some positive injury news for a change. Tottenham are hopeful that Richarlison and Son will take full part in training with the squad next week and be in contention for West Ham.”

Spurs take on the Hammers on Saturday October 19, and will be looking to bounce back from the bitter disappointment of the Brighton defeat last weekend.

Wilson Odobert ahead of schedule

As for Odobert, it seems the young Frenchman is making a quicker recovery than anyone anticipated, and could be ready for a surprise return to training.

O’Keefe added: “There’s even a hope Wilson Odobert could join in training… [It has] been a month I think. Certainly ahead of the schedule [the club] initially suggested.”

A bench boost for Spurs

If Tottenham can get Son back in the starting line-up, and Richarlison on the bench, at the very least that will give Postecoglou so much more to play around with if and when he needs to make changes through the game. We’ve lacked that strength in depth on the bench lately, and it could be enough to change the game for us.
