Hoilett: Fine Margins Cost Us

Hibs forward Junior Hoilett insists it is the ‘fine margins’ that are costing us at the moment.

Despite dominating large spells of the first half we found ourselves a goal down when Apostolos Stamatelopoulos fired home from close range. The Hibees reply was almost instant when Junior Hoilett got us back on level terms with a smart finish – but Andy Halliday’s late strike condemned us to defeat.

Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Hoilett expressed his disappointment with the result.

“It’s especially disappointing considering we dominated most of the game. To not get a result at the end of it is frustrating.

“We need to work hard at training to rectify our mistakes and come back stronger. I thought we played well, but we didn't get the result – so it's pointless.

“The Manager at half-time was telling us we need to keep being positive, which was how we played the first half.

“He told us to start strong and to switch on because he said the only way they were going to hurt us was from set pieces. I can see a lot of potential in the squad, it’s just the fine margins that are killing us at the moment.

“We have to regroup as a squad over the next couple of weeks and continue to work hard day in, and day out to make sure we’re prepared to get maximum points against Dundee United. Nothing is easy in this league, so we've got to remain focused, switch on, and be ready to go again.”
