Ben Davies admits one thing did not go according to plan for Spurs vs Ferencvaros

While it was a good night for Tottenham in Hungary on Thursday, Ben Davies has confessed that one thing did not go according to plan.

Positives galore for Spurs

There were a ton of positives for Tottenham to take from their 2-1 win over Ferencvaros, not least the fact that they managed to get the points while resting many of their key players.

The victory continues Spurs’ momentum, with the club now having registered five wins in five matches across all competitions.

However, perhaps the biggest positive was the performances of Will Lanskhear and Mikey Moore on their full Tottenham debuts, while Archie Gray also showcased just why there is so much hype about him.

One negative

However, things did get a little uncomfortable at the end for the away sides as they had to hold on desperately for the three points after Ferencvaros pulled one back in the 90th minute.

Davies admitted that Spurs made it difficult for themselves by not putting their chances away but praised the fight that his teammates showed to come away with a win.

When asked if things got a little too close for comfort towards the end, the defender told TNT Sports: “Oh yeah, I think we probably made it difficult for ourselves at the end but when you come to these away grounds it’s never easy and sometimes you have to show that little bit of fight and doggedness and in the end, that’s what we had to do.”

Struggles in front of goal

The one thing that might worry Postecoglou is the fact that his side are still struggling to make the most of the chances that they fashion.

However, that is understandable, given the inexperienced forward line that they used against Ferencvaros.

That problem could be solved when the likes of Heung-min Son, Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson come back into the starting eleven.
