Attacking duo depart

Manager Spencer Day explained:

“After discussions, Sam has asked to move back up to Sheffield where his young family live.

“Despite his best efforts to commute it hasn’t worked out and I really couldn’t argue with his request. We wish him every success for the future.

“Mason has deceided to step away from football for a family issue.

“I was shocked to hear his position and know everyone will send him and his young family very best wishes. Mason has rightfully put his family first and we hope to see him back at Boro one day.

“Losing two quality players has been tough, but family comes first in both circumstances and we wish both players and their families all the very best.”
