Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has provided an update on Wilson Odobert’s injury and it is not good news for Spurs fans.

Odobert’s progress halted

Odobert announced himself to Spurs fans with an excellent debut performance in Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Everton last month.

The 19-year-old showcased a willingness to take on his man at every opportunity and seemed like he could be the missing piece of the puzzle in Tottenham’s attack.

However, the winger’s progress was halted when he picked up a hamstring injury during the club’s Carabao Cup win against Coventry City earlier this month, being forced off in the 18th minute of the game.

Expected return date

There has been no confirmation from Spurs regarding Odobert’s expected date of return, but Ange Postecoglou did admit at the time that the injury “does not look good” for the player (Football.London).

It was reported by L’Equipe (as relayed by Sport Witness) on September 21 that Odobert would be out of action for around one month.

O’Keefe has now taken to social media to reveal that the teenager is now expected to be out for another six weeks or more, which comes as a big blow for Postecoglou’s side

Opportunity for Moore to shine?

While it is not ideal for the Frenchman to be out for such a long time, it does open the door for Moore to stake his claim for a place in the side and show what he can do.

The 17-year-old impressed in his cameo at Old Trafford, almost finding the back of the net with a curled effort from outside the box.

Given Timo Werner’s struggles in front of goal in that game, perhaps the Spurs academy graduate might have moved ahead of the German in the pecking order.
