Harry Redknapp names two Spurs stars in his PL Team of the Week

It was a weekend to remember for Tottenham Hotspur after a comprehensive 3-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, and two of the top performers in that game have been rewarded with a place in Harry Redknapp’s Premier League Team of the Week.

Micky van de Ven shines again

In any 3-0 win, the attacking players will get recognition, but Tottenham‘s defensive line was just as impressive in keeping a clean sheet.

The standout star from that backline was Micky van de Ven, who not only kept United attackers at bay, but kicked off the game with an astounding assist for Brennan Johnson‘s opening goal.

The Dutchman features in Redknapp’s team of the week via BetVictor, and he said: “Micky van de Ven just blew me away with that bursting run from his own half past four Manchester United players.

“Having the skill to do that before producing such a precise cross to give Brennan Johnson the tap-in was the icing on the cake. I don’t know of any centre-back in the world who can do that. What a way to start a big match like that.”

Kulusevski gives complete performance

Another player to put in a perfect performance was Dejan Kulusevski. The Swede worked hard to cover as much distance as possible on the day, provided excellent link-up play in the attacking third, and capped it all with a brilliant goal.

On Kulusevski’s contribution, Redknapp added: “To be fair I wasn’t expecting Spurs to make such light work of Manchester United. There were a couple of interesting decisions which changed the game, but Old Trafford is still Old Trafford, and it’s never easy.

“Dejan Kulusevski was on top form with his electric pace. He created many chances and got himself a goal. A fantastic performance from the Swede.”

The rest of Redknapp’s lineup

Alongside van de Ven and Kulusevski in Redknapp’s team of the week, the former Spurs boss had a backline comprised of Mads Hermansen in goal, Jurrien Timber, Joachim Andersen, and Jarrad Branthwaite.

Kulusevski was joined in midfield by Ryan Gravenberch and Dwight McNeil, while a front three consists of Cole Palmer, Raul Jiminez, and Liam Delap.
