  • An A-lister joins the club – legendary athlete and businessman Earvin “Magic” Johnson became the newest member of the club’s investor group in 2024. With his extensive experience in professional sports success as both a player and an executive, Mr. Johnson has championship rings in the NBA, WNBA, MLB, MLS and eSports.
  • Boom in club valuations – with the recent sale of Angel City FC at a $250M valuation, the average NWSL club is estimated to be worth over $100M as reported by Sportico, a massive increase from just a year ago.

As the Spirit wraps up its three-match away stretch this weekend in Orlando, it could return home next week having clinched a top four seed and at least one home playoff match. The Spirit will next take the field at home on Sunday, October 13 against Racing Louisville FC.
