Clachers On Settling In & Cup Clash

0 0

Shot-stopper Erin Clachers spoke ahead of Hibernian's Sky Sports Cup second round meeting with Queen's Park.

The girls head to Ochilview Park on Sunday (29 September) to partake in their first cup clash of the new campaign.

Loanee keeper Clachers could feature for the Hibees - after being rotated for Noa Schumacher versus Queen's a fortnight ago before being ineligible against her parent club, Glasgow City, last weekend.

"I’m here to pick up valuable game time," Clachers said.

"I’ve had a positive start personally. And I have leadership qualities that I can bring - hopefully I can implement that on the team."

Clachers missed the first few weeks of the league season through injury, but returned to keep two clean sheets in three matches across late August and early September.

On her posititve - though stop-start - beginning to life with Hibs, Clachers had only good things to say.

"It’s been good. We obviously had a really positive start to the season, while facing challenges in these last few weeks but we are looking to put that behind us and get back to winning ways.

"It’s been a great start for me personally, I’ve really enjoyed being here. It’s a great bunch of girls.

"There’s a lot of similarities between the way Grant and the team want to play. There’s not been too much adapting, just wee things. But I'm adapting well I would say."

Fellow goalie Noa Schumacher also joined the Club in the summer and has struck up a solid relationship with Clachers during their first few months in Edinburgh.

"She’s been great to work with," Clachers said of Schumacher.

"We push each other competitively but we have fun at the end of the day, so it’s going really well."
