Queen’s Park have secured the services of former Leicester City striker Reece Evans for the season with the option to extend for another year.
Reece, who turns 19 today, was with Leicester for over a decade during which time he earned international honours with Northern Ireland’s under-19 side.
After leaving Leicester in the summer The Spiders were interested in Reece and he has headed north to join up after completing a short stint with Reading’s under-21 side as an unsigned player.
Reece made a scoring debut for the Queen’s Park B Team on Tuesday and an interview with him following the game can be found below.
Queen’s Director of Football Darren O’Donnell said: “As part of the club’s recruitment strategy, we look at not only local talent but talent outside of Scotland for both B & 1st team players. It is important we have different profiles for each position as part of our club strategy.
“Reece is another very good example of this approach, in that his profile is a number 9 who is good at linking the play & plays on the shoulder of defenders, fitting an area that we felt we needed to focus on. I am confident that he will produce for the B Team and push for the First Team football soon”
