‘Not happy’ – Dominic Solanke reacts to his new EAFC rating at Tottenham

0 2

The new EA FC game is on the way, and we now know what the top Tottenham players have been rated. Dominic Solanke’s ratings have gone up after a successful season last year, but he’s still not pleased with two particular aspects of his in-game attributes.

Solanke wants more from his passing stats

Every year, fans eagerly await the reveal of the ratings for their favourite players on the game. Luckily, Tottenham supporters usually get the privilege of seeing strong ratings for the players in the Lilywhites squad.

This season, new signing Dominic Solanke has big pressure on his shoulders in real life, and will now be the man to lead the line for Ange Postecoglou‘s side.

He’s also got a big bump in his rating from EA, going from a 74 on last year’s game, to a nice overall score of 81 this season. His 19-goal campaign for Bournemouth last season clearly helped boost his reputation.

However, he’s not pleased with some of the finer details that make up his rating. Speaking to the Premier League about his passing and defending stats, Solanke had some complaints.

When told that his passing score was 64 last year, Solanke said: “64? That’s bad man. 64! Yeah, anything below 64 is a little bit heartbreaking, to be honest.” Despite seeing his score rise to 66 this season, Solanke added: “Still not too happy with that one.”

Solanke is better at defending than EA think

Next, he was shown his defending numbers, and they do not make for pretty reading. In last year’s game, he got a score of 28. This year, he’s up just one, to a rating of 29.

Solanke insisted it should be higher, saying: “That’s crazy. I work hard you know. I like pressing. So, to be that low, it’s downplaying it a little bit. Oh Gosh, plus one [this year]? Oh, well. I will take the defending.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I think Solanke’s overall rating is pretty fair, but EA really needs to recognise that defending is not just about what happens in your own box, it’s about pressing high, working hard up the pitch, defending from the front. Solanke is very good at all that, so he’s right to be unhappy.
