Quick turnaround for Tottenham

Spurs have a number of players on international duty over the next week or so, and while we all naturally want them to do well for their countries, there will always be that fear that someone will end up getting injured.

That concern is only exacerbated when you remember the first game back after the break is the North London derby. Spurs host Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, September 15.

The Lilywhites will need every player fit and raring to go if they are to get the better of their fierce rivals. So, as per Football.London, this is when those key players are returning to Hotspur Way.

The first to return will be Swedish duo Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall. The pair have another game on Sunday against Estonia, but will then be cleared to head back to London.

A large bulk of the international players will be in action on Monday, including Ben Davies, Brennan Johnson, Pape Matar Sarr, Radu Dragusin, Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, and Archie Gray. That group should be back in training with Spurs on Wednesday.

The stragglers

Unfortunately, three key players are scheduled to play on Tuesday, meaning they may not be back at training until Thursday. Cristian Romero, Yves Bissouma, and Heung-min Son all have games for their national team, while Wilson Odobert is also with the France Under-21s that day, too.

With those players returning on Thursday, that means Postecoglou might have just three training sessions with his full squad ahead of the North London derby, if he chooses to train on Saturday, that is.

Spurs Web Opinion

Well, this is far from ideal. The bulk of the squad coming back to training on the Wednesday is fine, but Thursday is cutting it very fine for the four playing later.

Let’s hope Ange has some top training sessions lined up to get the most out of the time he’s got with them.
