Patriots Add Defensive Captain Late To Week 1 Injury Report

The Patriots defense could be short-handed against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

New England on Saturday added Jabrill Peppers to the injury report due to a hip injury. He was listed as questionable for Week 1.

It's unknown when Peppers suffered his ailment, but if he were to miss Sunday's matchup, it would really thin out the safety group. The only other safeties on the roster are Kyle Dugger, Jaylinn Hawkins, undrafted free agent Dell Pettus and core special teamer Brenden Schooler. New England would also lose out on Peppers' leadership as the 28-year-old was voted team captain for the first time in his career.

Here is a look at the full injury report for both teams which includes Sidy Sow already being ruled out the murky statuses of Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Patriots
Out
G Sidy Sow (ankle)

Questionable
RB Antonio Gibson (hip)
T Vederian Lowe (abdomen)
LB Joshua Uche (foot)

Bengals
Out
DT Kris Jenkins (thumb)
OT Amarius Mims (pectoral)

Doubtful
WR Tee Higgins (hamstring)

Questionable
WR Ja'Marr Chase (rest)

Peppers' status will be determined about two hours before kickoff of Sunday's matchup as New England travels to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals at Paycor Stadium at 1 p.m. ET.
