Tottenham have deserved more

Spurs fans will be wondering how their side just has four points to show for their three games so far, with the Lilywhites having dominated all three of the opponents they have come up against.

That is borne out by the numbers, with Whoscored revealing that the North London club have had the ball 69.2 per cent of the time on average so far this season.

That figure is the most of any side in the top five leagues in Europe so far this season, meaning that Tottenham have even outperformed the likes of Manchester City and Barcelona in that metric.

Of course, one could argue that Spurs have had a generous start to the season, facing both Leicester City and Everton so far, but the stat is impressive nonetheless.

Tottenham are putting up some impressive stats

TBR Football have also revealed that Ange Postecoglou’s men have recorded the third most passes in the Premier League so far, with only Southampton and Manchester City completing more than Tottenham’s 1,780.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that Spurs have been extremely wasteful in the final third, lacking ruthlessness in their final pass or shot despite getting into many promising situations against both Leicester and Newcastle.

While possession itself might not count for much, the amount of the ball we are having does show just how much we are in control of games.

We have certainly controlled games better than we did last season but the pressure will start mounting on Postecoglou if we do not start picking up wins soon.
