What Packers Coach Said About Brutal Jordan Love Injury

The Green Bay Packers will leave Brazil with more than just a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Packers also might be without star quarterback Jordan Love for some time, too.

Love suffered an apparent lower leg injury on the second-to-last play of Green Bay's 34-29 loss to the Eagles. Love got his foot caught under 6-foot-3, 314-pound defensive tackle Jalen Carter while Carter and Josh Sweat tackled Love, who tried to lateral the ball pack to Josh Jacobs.

Love walked off the field with some assistance from the Packers medical staff, but that didn't generate much optimism that the 25-year-old, who signed a four-year, $220 million deal this offseason, avoided a serious injury. And Packers fans will still be holding their breath after what head coach Matt LaFleur said about the signal-caller's status.

"I don't know. I don't know," LaFleur told reporters, per CBS 58 News Scott Grodsky.

Love likely will have to undergo further testing before the extent of his injury is fully known. He finished the season-opening loss completing 17-of-34 passes for 260 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

But the loss for Green Bay coupled with Love's injury certainly isn't the way the Packers wanted to start a promising season.
