“People from the outside might look at me going from the Dutch first division to the third league and think it’s a bit strange – which I completely understand – but Birmingham is not a club that has to be in League One. This is a giant club that has new owners, and has bought a lot of players this summer, and even though it’s League One, it’s all tough games very nice step for me and I’m very satisfied.
“The ambition is to go up this year and they are talking about the English Premier League in the next few years. There are big goals, and it is fun to be a part of this project. Hopefully I’ll help them go as far as possible."
