Report: Yet another Tottenham player signs a deal involving CAA Base agents
Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has made a big move in his career by signing with a new agency, and it’s a decision that may well see him strengthen his position at the club.
Richarlison is in good company
Richarlison has not had an easy time of it in the last couple of years since joining Spurs. Between bad form, injury issues, and mental health struggles, the Brazilian is certainly due some good news.
Now, it has been announced that the 27-year-old has just signed with a new sports agency, and it’s one that a number of other Tottenham players are with.
Pillar Agency revealed on Instagram that Richarlison was a new client of theirs, writing: “We are pleased to announce that we have signed a contract to represent Tottenham Hotspur player Richarlison. He is one of the leading names in the Brazil team, having represented them in the Copa America and World Cup. Welcome, Richarlison.”
The agency is in partnership with CAA Base, the firm that also represents Ange Postecoglou, and players like James Maddison, Pedro Porro, Djed Spence, Heung-min Son, Pape Sarr, Alfie Devine, and Jamie Donley.
A positive step for Richarlison
The move comes after Richarlison’s well-documented fallout with his previous agent, Renato Velasco. As per a report from Brazilian outlet UOL, the striker discovered Velasco was carrying out transactions on his behalf but without his knowledge.
It is thought Velasco also took more than the 10% cut of Richarlison’s salary that is permitted by FIFA. When the relationship broke down, the report claims the Spurs man threw his agent out of his home.

Hopefully, things run a little smoother for Richy now, and there’s every chance that signing with CAA means he will have a more solid and positive position at Spurs, too.
I know it’s not a given, but having that many Spurs clients should naturally mean Richarlison is more secure at the club to an extent.
